Cheryl to miss X-Factor?

Could Cheryl Cole miss the next series of X-Factor?

News surrounding her recent collapse during a photo shoot, due to a case of malaria, suggest this is a possibility.

Reports say that Cheryl was just "hours from death's door" and that, even though she is out of intensive care, "she is still in recovery and keeps drifting in and out of consciousness".

Simon Cowell had already moved some of the recording of the new series back due to Cheryl's collapse, but as her recovery period is expected to last months it may be that she will miss the boot camp section of the show, forcing the shows bosses to find a replacement.

Ubisoft: 3D TV in every home by 2013

Ubisoft's UK marketing manager Murray Pannel has claimed that 3D TV technology could be in every home in the UK by 2013 by saying, "like HDTV I wouldn't rule out the fact that (3D TV) will be installed in everyone's living room in three year's time."

He added "The truth is I think it is a technology that's coming, we can't ignore it."

Personally I would love for this to be true and I think it is entirely possible, as long as the content that film makers and games companies are providing make good use of the technology and don't just stick with the 'having things fly towards peoples faces is all we need' mentality.

The other factor to consider, of course, is price. Currently prices are way too high for the average consumer to be able to justify buying into with the lack of content currently available.

So for Ubisoft's statement to reign true, we will need the current content to be great, so 'wealthy' people buy 3D ready technology and allow prices to gradually come down to a level where the 'average joe' can afford it within 3 years.

Let's leave with this final, promising, statement from Mr. Pannel

"(and we will) be in a position to have content that could really look absolutely amazing in 3D."

Fingers crossed folks!

New iPod Touch!

Ok, so we've had the iPad and the iPhone 4 now all that's left is a new iPod Touch right?

Well, according to John Lewis top dogs that's exactly what we are going to get in September (just in time for Christmas).

This follows the tradition of Apple always updating their iPod catalogue in time for the Christmas rush.

Looking at 'leaked pictures' of a new LCD and housing unit released on Alibaba it would seem the 'new touch' might have a front facing camera for use with Apples new FaceTime service.

Also sources say the Touch will also feature a rear 5mp camera like the one found on the iPhone 4 and it is highly likely it will also have a gyroscope rather than an accelerometer for six-axis motion tracking.

Stay tuned for more on this.
